Vintage California Cleminson Pottery DISTLEFINK Ceramic Salt and Pepper Shakers Bird Shaped Tan with Red Green Blue Floral Design 1950s
This ceramic salt and pepper set is by California Cleminson and is in the Distlefink pattern. This pattern was made during the 1950s, and are bird shped pieces made with a speckled tan ceramic and handpainted designs of green leaves and red wings. The pepper shaker bird is 5.5" long, and 4.5" tall and has one hole in the head. The salt shaker bird is 5" long and 5" tall, and has 2 holes in its head. The bottoms are marked: THE CALIFORNIA CLEMINSONS / HAND PAINTED.
They are both in very nice condition. Both of the birds beaks show some wear - one does have a small nick in the beak and the other is missing a little paint in it's beak but dies not feel chipped. There is crazing in the glaze on both pieces and a few very small glaze skips here and there.
