This great Mexican Tonala plate is 12" in diameter and 1.5" deep. It is a clay piece and has a wonderful design of flowers and plants and an owl in the center. The border is accented with a detailed flower pattern that repeats all of the way around the border. The painting is done in subtle and natural colors of gray, white, and a deep, rusty pinkish-red color. The back of the plate has an opening for a hanger on the top, with a gray metal cord currently attached. The plate is in good condition; however this is one small nick in the rim and some of the red paint is worn along the edge of the plate in a few areas. There are also 2 chips on the back side of the plate. Please see photos closely for condition - these chips and scuffed areas are show in detail in the last 5 photos.
