This lovely and unique Tonala burnished clay pottery ornament was handcrafted, painted and signed by Florentino Jimon Barba in Mexico. The Jimon family are masters of pottery and have been making it for generations. The ornament measures 3.5" in diameter and has a metal hook at top to add a ribbon or hook for hanging. The ornament is a tan clay, and is decorated with banded designs of geometric patterns around the ornament. It is signed JIMON MEXICO.
The ornament is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. There is an air hole in the top from production, and there is one small spot 1/8" in diameter where the clear glaze has chipped off - this is shown in detail in the last photo.
